Apple has released iOS 26.6.1 and iPadOS 26.6.1 for the public, and the update is now available for download. iOS 26.6.1 is a minor update and brings bug fixes and security improvements.
Apple says over 20 security issues have been fixed in this update, making this an important release for all users. The security vulnerabilities fixed in this release involve WebKit, Audio, ImageIO, Kernel, and more.
iOS 26.6.1 is one of the last public releases of iOS before Apple releases iOS 27 for everyone around 1 month later. Apple says iOS 26.6.1 includes security fixes for both iPhone and iPad.
You can now head over to Settings -> General -> Software Update and install this update. You can also download iOS 26.6.1 IPSW files that we have shared below and use iTunes or Finder to install this update.
Apple has not made any visual changes or added new features in this update, as those have been reserved for iOS 27. This is still an important release and is recommended for all users.
